Mount Clemens #6
Hello We Are The Masons! Officially chartered & founded in 1840 as Lebanon Lodge #6, and later reconstituted as Mt. Clemens Lodge #6. Since the beginning, we have proudly served the city of Mt. Clemens and the surrounding areas in much charity and philanthropy. The lodge itself is rich with local and early American Masonic history. Ebenezer Hall, the very first Worshipful Master of our lodge, was largely responsible for establishing the Masonic presence in Michigan, after the Anti-Masonic Movement (1826-1840) He was also responsible for our city’s very first industry, “Mount Clemens Glass Works” Later serving as Michigan’s 4th Grand Master in 1846, and yes, we named Hall Road after him. Countless notes of history by the good men of our lodge have been made since it’s founding. Men from all walks of life have passed through Mt Clemens Lodge, each one leaving their mark and contribution to humanity and country. From men of professional backgrounds, to skilled tradesmen, actors, doctors, lawyers, politicians, judges, police officers, firemen, first responders, entrepreneurs, historians, educators, and others. It is also worth mentioning that at one time our lodge was nicknamed “The Selfridge Lodge” among Masons, being a large number of our members were from all the military branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, and Coast Guard) were reservists, active duty, retired, and all reported to or were employed by Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Today, we carry on our legacy in the great city of Mt. Clemens as one of the oldest service organizations in Macomb County. We are still continuing to provide outstanding charitable services & activities to our community to date. To name a few.. * Michigan Child ID Program * The Bikes for Books Program * The Masonic Scholarship Program * Trunk or Treat * Flick and Float * Delivery Holiday Dinners * Reverse Raffles * Euchre Tournaments Freemasonry is more than a fraternity, more than a way of life - it’s a commitment to the future!
